Patchwork Plaid Quilt Pattern
Welcome to the Modern Textiles' Patchwork Plaid Quilt Pattern! This pattern include full instructions and cutting guides for a table runner, crib, twin, queen, and king size plaid quilts.
Classic plaid and traditional woven tapestries inspired the patchwork plaid layout of the quilt. I love the way fibers combine to form a new color in woven plaids. The vertical and horizontal stripes extending from the plaid patchwork in the quilt are reminiscent of the tails of the warp and the weft used during the weaving process. The pattern works best with high quality solid color quilting cottons, shot cottons or non-directional fabrics with a very subtle print. I find it easiest to choose the back or binding fabric first as inspiration, and then let that fabric lead your solid color choices for the front. For inspiration and help choosing color combos check out our blog.
Included in this pattern are Design Sheets for each size. Feel free to make copies of these pages and experiment with color options. Once you've decided on a color scheme for your project, I suggest you color it in on the design sheet and keep it as a handy reference as you work on the quilt.
