2016 Review

2016 Review

We are wrapping up the books for 2016 around here and thought we would take a minute to look back on the year. It's times like these that having a robust social media account comes in handy. How does one remember all of their accomplishments if they aren't documented on Instagram? :) We had a great year of fun events and classes, amazing fabric, and new projects. The best part was getting to know all of you a little better and we look forward to more of that in 2017! We started our VIP parties in the first part of 2016. We love celebrating our amazing customers with a special deal and late night shopping. We hope you've enjoyed these nights too. If you haven't had a chance to check out our VIP nights they are the last Tuesday of every month from 6-9pm. Another new addition in 2016 was our Kids Summer Camps! It was so much fun to see the awesome things the kids made during camp. The last camp focused on fashion and wrapped up with a fashion show - it was amazing! Connie led each of these camps and did a great job inspiring and encouraging the kids. Summer brought us Row by Row season, which is always a blast to see new faces traveling through Fargo. We had visitors from 34 states plus Canada and Mexico this year!

We had the chance to be part of the first Quilt Exhibit with Blow's Sew 'N Vac in September. It was so fun to see such a great community of quilters together in one space. It definitely inspired us to keep investing in the community of makers we have in our area. We love to make up new projects and patterns around here, in case you haven't noticed! We hope you enjoy sewing with them. Our list of free tutorials grew this past year. Have you tried all of these projects? Lucille Tote, Whimsical Kites, Prize Ribbons, Aloe Vera, Market Bag Collection Throw, Bats, Flannel Wrap, Snowflake Quilt, Oversized Squatch Legendary Quilt We spend a lot of time working on our Modern Textiles original patterns. We added a few new patterns to our catalog this year that we are really proud of. Be sure to check these patterns out if you haven't already! Simple Softie Kit, Quilted Dinghy and Life Jacket, School Spirit Quilt, O Christmas Tree Table Runner, Ugly Sweater Quilt Blocks We went through a lot of changes at MT this year. Bree moved to Portland, Chelle took on a chaplain job that she was made for, and Sammie is off to London. We are so excited to have added two amazing talented ladies to our staff - Jamie and Lacey. We hope you enjoy getting to know them as well. Katie, Laura and Sunny round out our amazing team that we are blessed to have. We are so thankful for the amazing staff past and present and couldn't do this crazy life without them! 2017 is wide open with possibilities and we are excited to see what it brings! We've got some great things planned. Our free Garment Lecture on January 11th (6pm) is just the first of what we hope will be many community building events. Watch for more chances to meet other makers this year! We are excited to keep writing new patterns and growing our inventory at the shop. But what we really want in 2017 is to inspire you to keep making! Would you help us do that by answering a few questions to steer us in the right direction? Take our super quick survey HERE! Thank you for helping us make an amazing 2016! Happy sewing in the new year! Roxanne & Connie SaveSaveSave
