Color of Connection Quilt

Color of Connection Quilt

Late this winter I participated in the Color of Connection Quilt Along. If you haven't heard me talking about the Color of Connection group than you're missing out! Keyana who curated January's Bella bundle for Modern Textiles created such a beautiful palette, that I new I needed to create my Color of Connection quilt with it, You all know how much I love quick and easy quilts - this one meets both of those standards! Keep reading to learn more about the my Bella Solids version of the Color of Connection Quilt.

Bella Solids

I've raved about how much I love the Bella Solids line from Moda, so I won't repeat myself anymore :) For this project I used the Sienna, Navy, Cayenne, Saffron, Lavender and Frost. All of which are in the shop. I can envision snuggled up under this quilt with a cup of coffee and not having to be worried about coffee stains!

Binding

For this quilt I really wanted to make a statement, so I decided to use the Cayenne fabric to do that. I think it gave an extra pop and element to the quilt.

Backing

For the backing I used the Sienna color to match the back. I really wanted the front to be the showstopper with the piecing and fabrics. Selecting a solid color backing material really showcases the quilting on the back.

Quilting

To be honest, I really didn't have a gut feeling for what this quilt needed in regards to quilting. I knew I wanted something with a little curve to it but nothing too over the top. I decided to go with the Contempo design from Karlee Porter and I can't imagine this quilt with anything else but this design!
