Laura’s Picks is a new monthly feature at Modern Textiles! Laura has a great eye for color and pattern and we are always excited to see what she puts together. Each month Laura will be picking 6 prints that go together beautifully! Her picks will be available while supplies last in store and online as fat quarter bundles, 5” precut squares and Laura’s favorite 2-1/2” precut squares.
Here's Laura!This month’s pick I’m calling Morning at the Lake. It reminds me of waking up at the lake with the sunrise peaking through the fog that’s just lifting from the lake.

The warm coral and gold in the fabric complements the cool blues and grays. This collection can be combined to make a beautiful quilt for the lake cabin or a patchwork zipper pouch to use as a fun summer clutch. My picks are from several different collections yet they go so great together!

Laura Lempe joined the Modern Textiles team in January 2014. She adores fabric and is proud to say that her first quilt was made with black and white Elvis Presley fabric. Although, her fabric tastes have changed (thank goodness) and she hasn’t attempted a quilt since, she is still sewing. Now she uses beautiful fabrics, Cotton and Steel is one of her favorite companies, to create custom bags and accessories for her small business, Poppy and Pippa. When she’s not surrounded by beautiful fabric, Laura is the Director at Elim Children’s Center. Laura and her husband, Bill, live in Fargo with their two super spoiled cats.
