I've been in a scrappy mood lately, and I knew I wanted to pull from my scrap stash. Maybe a year or so ago, I spent way too much time cutting scraps into pre-cut sizes. If that sounds daunting—it absolutely was. Will I do it again? Probably not. But for the Confetti quilt pattern, it totally paid off!
Since this quilt is monochromatic, I knew I wanted the quilting design to pop. I leaned into the upcoming Halloween season and designed Drip, a pantograph that mimics paint drips—perfect for adding bold movement and texture.

Libs Elliott Stealth Scraps
It took a bit of digging, but these scraps are mostly from the Libs Elliott Stealth line for Andover Fabrics, with a few pieces from the Watcher line mixed in. I still have loads of these pre-cut into 5" squares—maybe I should’ve made a larger quilt?
That’s the beauty of this quilt pattern: it’s super easy to scale up or down depending on your quilt size goals. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned quilter, the Confetti pattern works beautifully.
The background fabric is leftover Speckled in Dove—such a soft complement to the vibrant scraps.

Drip Pantograph
I’ve been revisiting some of my old artwork lately. Back in the day, I went through a serious drip phase in painting and mixed media classes—layering drips on drips of paint and letting gravity do its thing. Grab the Drip Panto Here.
That inspiration came full circle with this Drip pantograph. I’m still working on translating other mixed media projects into modern quilt designs, which is trickier than it sounds. Especially when it comes to bringing 3D textures into surface design for quilting.
Stick around—I’ve got more coming!

Binding to Match the Thread
Have I mentioned that green is my favorite color? Honestly, the entire green spectrum is perfection. This Kelly green—aka Parakeet in Bella Solids—was the best match I had for the neon green thread used in the quilting.
I’ve used a similar bold binding approach before, like in one of my first Not So XOXO quilts, where red binding added a pop against a grey and white quilt top. There’s just something about bold binding that makes a quilt sing. It becomes part of the quilt design rather than just an edge.
