Bold Solids with Bella Fabrics

I thought it would be fun to try out my brand colors—in quilt form! I love bold, modern palettes, and these Bella Solids hit the mark perfectly. For the quilt top, I used Bright Sky, Tangerine, Peony, Acid Green, and Off White. Using that bright blue background was a bold choice, but I think it worked like a charm. It really helps the design pop, making this a standout modern quilt.

Big thanks to my friend Meg at Monograms for Makers, who helped me translate my digital brand colors into real-life fabric choices. If you need help pulling fabrics together for your next project, I highly recommend her expertise!

Wavelength Pantograph: A Modern Quilting Design

Let’s talk about the quilting! I used the Wavelength pantograph, one of the earliest pantograph designs I ever created—and I still think it deserves more love. With all the crisp lines in this quilt top, I wanted something that softened the design while still maintaining a modern quilting vibe.

This all-over pattern creates beautiful movement and works great for quilting modern quilts. You can grab this pantograph in my panto shop, or let your longarm quilter know where to find it.

Binding: Bold + Practical

For the binding, I had leftover Tangerine solid from the top, and I knew I wanted something with contrast. The bold orange against the blue gives the perfect frame. I did consider white, but from a practical standpoint, I knew it would get dingy fast—so Tangerine for the win!

A Colorblock Party on the Back

I couldn’t resist using this Multi Colorblock wideback by Annabel Wrigley for Wyndham. It’s such a fun geometric print that feels like a party on the back of the quilt! Since I often use solids on the front, I love going bold with the backing. This print tied in all my colors and added even more personality to the project.
