We would love to introduce you to our newest instructor at Modern Textiles, Clem Buzick!
Many of you know Clem as a fantastic long arm quilter. She's been professionally quilting for 8 years and has won numerous awards in quilt shows and competitions around the country. She's way too humble and kind to act like the quilting celebrity she really is! We are so honored to have her as one of our teachers and more importantly as a good friend. Clem began teaching last quarter and is back to teach two new classes this quarter, and she even helped us write the patterns for both!
First up is an adorable cookie sheet mini quilt!
Our
FREE handout includes templates of holiday themed cookie cutters. We use
Heat-N-Bond to fuse the "frosting" to the "cookie" and then the cookie to the pan. Clem will walk you through this method of applique, and also teach you the best stitches to use to finish the edges of the cookies. You'll have this mini quilt finished in no time, ready to give as a festive hostess gift or keep it for yourself to add a little whimsy to your holiday decor!

Clem's next project is one you may have seen hanging in the shop recently! We are so excited we got to work with Clem to develop the Ugly Sweater quilt block. This is our
new Intro to Paper Piecing Class! The class will walk you through the basics of paper piecing and then you'll get to make one of our ugly sweater blocks during class. They are a hilarious way to create one of a kind holiday decor for yourself or for gifts! This class is already filling quickly, so grab a spot today.
