Keep reading to learn more about the Ruby Star Society Stellar Jelly Roll version of the Not So XOXO Quilt.

Ruby Star Society Stellar Jelly Roll

I don't know what it is about jelly rolls but they just call my name whenever I walk into a quilt shop. I love that the cutting of a project is partially completed. Also, that you get the full spectrum of a fabric line. Ruby Star Society offers a junior jelly roll, which is half of the standard jelly roll, so 20 width of fabric strips vs 40+ strips. For the Not So XOXO Quilt you only need 15 strips for the quilt top. So either you can save the extra 5 strips for another project or utilize those strips for the binding. I paired the jelly roll with Off White Bella Solids from Moda.

Binding

Like I mentioned earlier, I used the 5 remaining strips for the binding and added 2 more strips from my scrap bin that were also designed by Rashida Coleman-Hale to compliment what I was working with. I love the look of a scrappy binding, it really frames the quilt with an extra wow factor!

Backing

For the backing of this Not So XOXO Quilt, I had some of Paintbrush Studio's Large Muted Rainbows on hand and thought it would pair perfectly with playful top and the colors in the Stellar fabrics.

Quilting

Have I mentioned how much I love long arm quilting? I decided to add a boat load of texture to this unique Not So XOXO Quilt and wanted it to be extremely playful - so I chose the Textures pantograph from Anne Bright. I think it goes great with the quirkiness of the quilt and gives it an almost custom look but with an edge to edge design. If you'd like me to help out adding quilting to your quilt check out my long arm quilting information page to send your quilt in!

I'd love to see you put your own spin on the Not So XOXO Quilt - be sure to share your quilt on social media with the #NotSoXOXOQuilt and #mtsew

Happy Sewing!
